Gaming Peripherals- What do you use?
« on: Sunday, 24 Jan 2010, 16:59:56 »
What mouse, keyboard and other peripherals do you use for WoW?

My mouse is the Razer Naga, which was a christmas pressie from my dad. 12 extra buttons, ability to play one handed even more often leaving the other hand free for drinking beer etc= win. They've recently updated the driver so that the keys can be assigned to anything and to support macros. Just need different profiles for different programmes/games now. I use my mouse wheel as my casting keybind and it's loads quieter than my last mouse, which has cut down on the amount of missus aggro I get because she can't hear the tv or i have woken the baby (like it was that loud anyway!)

I don't use my keyboard except to type with when raiding. Instead I use a Zboard Fang. So many keys in reach means that I can have lots more keybound. Again the all keys can be reassigned and if needed each key can be assigned a macro too. I've got my action buttons set to the F keys since i got the naga, ensuring that i can't reach alt and what is assigned to F4 at the same time!! Also reassigned what was the tab key so no acidental alt-tabbing either. Happened too many times! Also has profiles for different apps/programmes and auto detects which one to use.

Not that i use the keyboard to game with except for typing like I've said already but I'm adding this to my collection on tuesday. Supposedly quieter keys (for reasons previously mentioned) and underlighting so I can see what I'm doing.

After i get this I should really think about upgrading my PC. The peripherals I'll have will cos nearly half as much as I paid for my PC!!!

A geek-gadget thread! \o/

I'm using a Razer Lachesis mouse. It's a tank of a mouse and doesn't seem to show even the slightest sign of getting worn out after more than 2 years of tough love. 4Kdpi is pretty sweet as well, on a good surface it's ridiculously precise.

It has 9 buttons in total, though some aren't really fast to reach (is use those for auto-run and.... prospecting/disenchanting.... 1 hand play in towns hehe)

For a keyboard, erhm.... I use a boring standard keyboard stolen from work. I tend to get (steal) a new one rather often since I wear them out ridiculously fast when gaming. I get overexcited like a little kid and hit that E button (shield slam) so hard that it pops back out and hit me in the eye once every 3-4 months or so. I don't dare to buy a proper gaming keyboard since I'll probably just break it in no time hehe.

I use a Logitech MX518 mouse which is showing its age a little after two years. It has 2 side buttons which I use for autorun and talking on TS.

I use the standard, flat, look-at-me-I'm-so-pretty Mac keyboard, which is not great for gaming but I'm too lazy/broke to get anything else.  :D

Logitech Performance MX:

Got this in December as an early xmas gift as my old MX1000 died from over use. I also use the standard Apple keyboard that came with my machine, I can't use anything else now as I love how the keys feel, everything else feels horrid to use : /

Note, that's not the same layout as my one, but the design is the same.

Razer Diamondback. Really simple one, but one of the rare mice that left handed people can use too. Minimalistic, but I like that, I don't like using side buttons anyway.

like many others i was using the mx518, awesome mouse (i'm sure when i first bought this it was near enough top of the range and was around £60) but after 2 years the laser started to stop sometimes and then restart.  So at present I'm stuck with a normal mouse, i do miss the extra buttons and responsiveness.

As with Al (in fact I'm pretty sure this is the reason Al has 1) I also use a zboard fang, quite handy, although I know I dont use this to its full abilities.  Its great advantage is if I'm away though work it fits nicely into my laptop bag (although my laptop is far from capable of running a raid with decent FPS)

My keyboard is a keysonic ACK-5020U and once again i dont use this to its full abilities it just looks nice with a blue glow :) Also it has a couple of USB ports, usefull :)

My newest bit of kit (the others being a cpl of years old, before i had the major expense of 3 kids) is my moniter, a brand spanking 24" HD moniter, a huge upgrade on my old one

Im using a simple logitech mouse atm. Although im considering to get another mouse with some extra buttons.

I play on a laptop (17"), so no need for a separate keyboard/monitor.

I use a basic Microsoft keyboard on my Mac (blasphemy I know) as all I really use it for is typing in game.

My main controls however are all on my scrumptious Razer ND52te keayboard :D I got it a few months ago and my goodness it was hard to get used to! Now I can't imagine using anything else. On my paladin especially where I have so many fallback buttons I use regularly (blessings, hands etc) I love having all my buttons together.

My mouse was a christmas present, a Steelseries Ikari Laser (I'm a bit of a Steelseries whore). Don't have a huge amount of extra buttons, only a couple but it's got beautiful movement, very smooth and very responsive. I have various modifiers to control my extra buttons, like uh.. for Blood Lust *coughs*. But I still sometimes jumble them up.

I love my gadgets :D

Yep, the old G15 has like 18 G-buttons, the renewed one has lesser indeed and no flip screen
