Advancing into Icecrown: The Crimson Halls (10) cleared!
« on: Friday, 22 Jan 2010, 13:55:35 »
After an awesome raid in 25-man on Wednesday (click here for more details), we also zoned into 10-man and did some nice progress.

Blood Princes and Blood Queen Lana`thel down!

We started with Blood Princes. After seeing the fight in 25-man, we knew what to expect in 10s. However, this fight is way harder in 10-man than it is on 25. I`m not going to debate whether 25 is too easy (it seemed so at least) or 10 is too hard (it feels a bit overtuned for intended gear levels), but the difference is very noticeable. People seem to report that the abilities have the same values as for 25-man, and due to the nature of the fight (requiring many special "roles") it`s alot harder for a 10-man to make some good assignments.
Fortunately, we overcome those challenges and they fell down.

We moved on to Queen Lana`thel. This encounter is really great as a DPS, because you get to do 5-digit DPS ;D The healing however is a pain in the ass, there is alot of raid damage going on and it`s very very intensive. After a 30-min briefing and planning, we pulled the boss and were fortunate to score a 1-shot kill. Wasn`t the cleanest execution (we messed up rather bad, but in a good way), but it got the job done.
I`m totally looking forward to the fight in 25-man, but it will probably be very unforgiving. The space is tight with 10 players (although not much), I don`t want to imagine how it is with 25; and with abilities hitting way harder!

Crazy things I did :
- Tanked Gruul (MT), Hydross (MT) and Kara (OT) pre 3.0 at level 70 (on the rogue)
- Soloed Ley-Guardian Eregos (heroic) at level 80
- Soloed Doomwalker (on the DK) at level 80
