Znor's Addon Spotlight #2: ACP
« on: Monday, 26 Apr 2010, 14:00:27 »
Good day everyone!

I'm sure some of you have had the problem of relogging to enable an addon that you desperately need for raiding, or to disable an addon to free up some memory. I find that alot of the addons that I'm using are either for PvP or for PvE, but are not necessary for both.

So I started looking for an addon to fix my addons (true story), and I found: ACP

Note:
The headers of the addons are actually links to the website where you'll be able to download the addon or check for more information.

Addon Control Panel:

This addon adds a new 'AddOns' button to your standard Escape Menu (below Macros):

Escape Menu after installing ACP

Clicking this button (or typing /acp in your chat window) will open up a screen that allows you to enable or disable specific addons.

The Addon Control Panel

Enable/disable the addons at your leisure, and after reloading the UI, the selected addons will have been enabled/disabled. There's even a button to reload the UI at the bottom of the Panel.

You can also make presets of enabled addons, allowing you to swap to your raiding addons with a click of a button. To do this, select the addons you would like to have enabled for your set. Then click Sets - Select a set from the list, and click Save.

You can rename the set so you know which set you have just saved, and by selecting the load button, you will load the template for the saved set.

Note:
Selecting Save or Load does not actually enable/disable the addons yet. You will have to reload your UI for changes to take effect.

I have found this addon to be very useful, particularly for making a PvE set, and a PvP set. This reduces the amount of 'useless' addons you have enabled at any time, increasing your framerate.
