[Declined] Khaeli- Shadow/Disc Priest
« on: Friday, 07 May 2010, 15:37:29 »
Your character name, level, class and armoury link:
My character is Khaeli, level 80 shadow priest/disc priest both with equal set of gear, http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Darkmoon+Faire&cn=Khaeli

Tell us a little about yourself as a person, such as your name, age, country and ability with English:
Well I am Kayleigh a 23 year old female who live in Sunderland in the UK, I work as a project assistant for a charitable trust on a team called 'Children and Young People', the job I love but it's a shame it's only for 6 months, the job can be testing at times working with younger people. My mother language is English so I think I will be ok with that :]

Do you currently know anyone in Prophecy?
Yes I know Kaasuid and Vendettah, We used to game alot on Unreal Tournament back in the days. We've met once in real life too =]

Do you have any other characters that you play on a regular basis?
Yes I have Isotoxin my level 80 holy paladin. Who I have just started concentrating on Gearing up for end game content.

Why do you want to join Prophecy? What are your game goals? (endgame PvE-raiding, PvP, RP, ...)
I wish to join Prophecy for PVE raiding. I know that there is a strong team of core raiders in Prophecy from what I hear from Kaas, I feel as though I can contribute by offering my experience and skills to your team. My 100% commitment to learning more about my class and other classes too. I wish for an environment that can set me some personal goals to strive to do better and learn the mechanics to encounters and a rock steady place for me to commit my character to.

Have you been in other guilds? If so, what are the reasons for leaving your previous guild(s)?
I am currently in Liberated. They are a great guild, nothing wrong with anyone from that guild as people, however I would like to be in a guild that shares my approach to the game, and at the moment I feel as though I am not reaching my potential.

I was in The Mercenaries of Ghostlands, EU. I was officer of that Guild and GF of the guild leader, it was little too frustrating for me in that role. Having alot of Officers meetings, putting opinions accross and listening to others, that wasn't the problem, the problem was it was stressing me out so much I used to hate to log on because I had 100's of whispers complaining about certain officers or guild members; I just lost all happiness in a game that I used to play to for fun. So I left for about 3-4weeks and when I came back the guild had already disbanded and a new one made. So I transferred to Darkmoon Faire.

What do you expect from the guild?
I expect a nice friendly atmosphere while raiding, some progression and most of all some fun while doing so.

We currently raid on Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday and Tuesday, from 20.00 to 0.00 server time. Yes I am available those hours.

Can you regularly attend these times, at least 2-3 times per week?
Yes I can.

What is your raiding experience? By this, we refer to preTBC raids done preTBC, TBC raids done during TBC and WotLK raids done while level 80:
I have alot of raiding experience. I have done alot of pre wotlk raids (Kara, SSC, BT) I have completed all of Naxx on 10 and 25, Ulduar I have a knowledge of and I did take a short break from wow while moving back to england, and didn't complete Yoggy, or any hardmodes. ICC 10 I have cleared all appart from Sindragosa and Lich King. ICC 25 I have done all appart from Blood Queen, Sindragosa and Lich King.

Have you read and fully understood the raid rules? Are you agreeing to follow them?
Yes I understand and agree to them.

Is your connection stable enough to handle 25-man raiding for 4 hours?
Yes it is.

Briefly state your pc specs! It's a laptop bought around 10 months ago. Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU T3400 @ 2.16GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz Memory: 3034MB RAM Hard Drive: 234 GB

Post a picture of your UI in a raid environment and detail a few key addons you use for raiding. (Failure to do this will affect your application in a negative way)

DBM
Omen
Quartz
DoTimer
Dominoes
ORA3
Grid for my raidframes when healing
Pitbull for my character frame, my target and target's target
ElkBuffBars configured to show debuffs in the top centre of my screen, so i can react quickly in raids.
I do also use Recount but that is for my own personal approach, so I can see that my character is performing well in raids.

Tell us a bit about how you play. Your keybindings, your awareness level. What you've done so far to improve your play and what you plan to do: I use keybinds for all of my main abilities. using 1-0 for my primary abilities. I use the mouse button to dispel magic and the mouse button to abolish disease, some people have told me in pugs that I'm one of the faster dispellers they know, it's a habit from my arena experience too, hehe =] I have my camera settings different on each encounter so I can see what is going on a healer but in general it is the same when I am in Shadow Spec, it's mostly on maxrange. I do have variations on openers that I use: Vampiric Touch > Devouring Plague > Mind Blast > Mind Flay > Shadow Word: Pain. Here's my normal spell priority (Non 4-set T10) Vampiric Touch > Devouring Plague > Mind Blast > Shadow Word: Pain > Mind Flay. Obviously when I get my T10 bonus this week it will have to change to: Vampiric Touch > Devouring Plague > Shadow Word: Pain > Mind Flay > (Mind Blast after every VT). On healing I normally shield people as often as I can. Applying renews where applicable and healing using penance and greater heals to conserve mana.

What talent spec do you currently use for raiding? Detail a few key aspects of the talent build, explaining them:
I have 2 talent specs in shadow: http://armory.wow-europe.com/talent-calc.xml?cid=5&tal=0503203000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000325023051223010323152301351
and
http://armory.wow-europe.com/talent-calc.xml?cid=5&tal=0503203100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000325223001223012323152301351
As you can see, the biggest difference between the two is the exclusion of Improved Mind Blast in the T10 spec. This allows for a bit of flexibility in that particular spec. It has the very beneficial 2/2 Imp VE talent, which is great to have in hard modes I think.

For your class and spec, which stats do you focus on? Explain your choice - based on your enchants and gems too:
I try to fill red spots with Runed Cardinal Ruby I use Reckless Ametrine in yellow slots and Purified Dreadtone in blue slots if the socket bonus is worth it. As for my choice of a meta gem, there's only one real option, and that's the Chaotic Skyflare Diamond which gives +21 Critical Strike Rating & +3% Increased Critical Damage.

What glyphs do you use for raid purposes?
I Always use Glyph of Shadow, Glyph of Mind Flay and depending on encounter: Glyph of Dispersion, Glyph of Mind Sear. I personally use Glyph of Levitate, Glyph of Fortitude and Glyph of Shadowfiend for the minor glyphs as it isn't really important.

Tell us a bit how you do your research. For raid encounters, class knowledge etc:
For raiding encounters I either visit tank spot to watch the new updated videos and read up on the boss encounters or visit wowwiki to see what abilities the bosses have and what the raid encounter is likely to be like, on one occastion I have been on the PTR to try out new bosses. For Class knowledge I usually visit shadowpriest.com and read up the forums there or ask some better geared shadow priests, shy kids get nothing if they don't ask =]

Do you have any additional questions/comments?
I have no current questions at this point in time, however if you have any questions of something is unclear on my application, please feel free to /w me in game on Khaeli or Isotoxin.

Greetins again Khaeli,

I'm afraid we can not accept your application at this point.
Best of luck in your further adventures.
