Heroic Lich King (10) down!

It`s almost 3 months since we posted some boss kill here, so hey, it`s about time! Actually, we`ve also defeated Putricide and Sindragosa in 25-man heroic quite a long time ago, but slacked on the news post.

Prophecy defeats The Lich King in heroic 10-player difficulty!

After some heavy wiping, we`ve brought this one home as well. It`s a very unforgiving fight, and even in 10-man it`s very difficult fight. I would rate it personally as the most difficult fight in the expansion execution wise (although Firefighter will probably remain a personal favourite).
Now I`ll be completely honest, the difficulty of this fight comes from numbers being taken to very high levels, the DPS requirements are high and the damage output is insane. The end of the fight (I mean P3) "redeems" the quality though, because the final phase is a very intense test of actual gameplay instead of numbers, and (imma braggin` yo!) the gameplay we put off at the kill was really nice, and also incredibly fun (actually more they than me, but shh!). Sadly, the fight "loses" for being a wee bit too long, and having some monotonous phase 1 which "kills" the enthusiasm... at least speaking from personal point of view.
Nevertheless! I want to keep the positive-ness, so in the end, the whole phase 3 (getting there, figuring how to play it, executing it) and the epicness at the end was worth it.

We started working on the fight approximately 3 weeks ago, and slowly learning it phase by phase. It took us many attempts (hmm... I think around 60-70) in total, but we were slowly getting there. The "clear the rest of the instance" boss was very unforgiving as well (and I won`t go into details ). After scoring a very promising 25% last Tuesday (on June 8), we had some difficulties with schedules so we only could go again this Monday, when we got totally owned by some connection and game issues (lost 1 hour on disconnects and crashes), so sadly we couldn`t do much.
Friday the 18th was the magic night though. We started the evening straight with P3, and kept up the good play throughout, reaching P3 consistently (barring some RNG with shamblers in P1), and perfecting our play from try to try. After a 17% and a 18% wipe, we scored the kill! It was a little messy in the end with a few deaths, but some people decided it`s time to play beyond awesome and handle it by doing some brilliant soaking coordination!
Our RNG was a bit better tonight, Zenor trained his "lottery" skills and started to get picked up tonight; it wasn`t a very pleasing fact to see that at the end of a 17-tries evening a week ago, we had zero warlock pickups and over 10 healer pickups, including 3-4 tries when we had Ven being picked twice in a row.

As a bonus, we were the first guild in the realm to do this fight. Yay us!
