Why was my account removed?
« on: Tuesday, 18 Sep 2007, 22:59:57 »
The most common reason for removing an account is because it hasn't been used in a while. It's actually very rare for an account to be removed because of some inappropriate action by the account holder.

In general, I remove dead accounts - those which haven't been access in 60-days. I also remove accounts which haven't been validated (i.e. the registrant hasn't activated their account from the validation email sent out by the website) after 3-days. Accounts are removed because the more 'crud' we have on the forum, the slower things start to get - removing accounts is just one way of maintaining performance.

Finally if you leave the guild, I'll lower your access level so you no longer see the Members' only forums. After that, if you don't access your account for 14-days, I'll remove it. People who join and leave in the same day will have their account removed immediately.

There are of course some exceptions, like if you leave the game entirely, as there's little reason to remove your account or adjust your access level.
